Zines are, in general, small DIY books/booklets, usually printed at home and distributed through niche or local groups and events. They can be comics, short stories, instructional, etc, though mine are predominantly short comics.
I make these for fun and sell them from time to time at zine fests. Here are a couple you can read online for free.
